Extreme weather recovery efforts to benefit from Tourism Infrastructure Fund

The Minister of Tourism has announced the seventh round of recipients of the Government’s Tourism Infrastructure Fund, which supports local government to address tourism infrastructure needs.

This Tourism Infrastructure Funding round will invest over $14.3 million into 56 projects around the country.
Supporting projects which provide resilience and aid recovery for regions hit by recent extreme weather events was a priority for the final round of funding through the Tourism Infrastructure Fund. 19 weather related projects were funded through this round.
Funding for projects which support recovery and resilience from recent weather events include walking and cycleway trail restoration, improving roads for all weather access, fit for purpose toilet blocks, rebuilding walkways to regain access to beaches are more.
The Tourism Infrastructure Fund has supported almost 300 projects which have improved the quality of tourism infrastructure for residents and visitors alike.
