GCDR’s role

The Government Centre for Dispute Resolution (GCDR) was established to build capability across government to design and deliver appropriate and accessible dispute resolution.

Why dispute resolution is important

Everyone, irrespective of their needs, should have the opportunity to resolve disputes. This means dispute resolution schemes should be accessible, visible, and affordable for all people who may need to use them.

The GCDR worked to build capability across government to design and deliver appropriate and accessible dispute resolution. This included providing advice and support to dispute resolution schemes and government agencies on best practice.

We contributed to effective regulatory stewardship by supporting schemes to learn from disputes and improve how dispute resolution services are designed and delivered.
