Feedback to help shape Regional Workforce Plans

Consultation on the draft Wellington plan closes on 19 April and submissions on the Tai Poutini West Coast Regional Workforce Plan consultation document close on 29 April.

RWPs have been developed with local communities and present a common view of the labour and skills issues that need to be addressed for regions to achieve their potential.

Regional Skills Leadership Groups (RSLGs) are independent, locally based and regionally led. They are leading regional conversations on labour market needs, and their advice will inform education, welfare and immigration decisions.

All 15 RSLGs have been engaging with their local communities, including iwi, employers, community and business groups, and government agencies, as they develop their inaugural Regional Workforce Plans.

Once the RWPs are released, engagement will continue. RWPs will be refreshed annually to make sure they remain fit for purpose.

The plans also draw from local insights reports regularly prepared by the RSLGs and published on the MBIE website, and from the intelligence and experience RSLG members bring to the table.

Membership of RSLGs varies across regions but includes business, union, local government, economic development iwi and community representatives.
