In September 2021, MBIE commissioned Michael Heron KC to carry out an Operational Review of Immigration New Zealand’s (INZ) process in relation to our handling of Ahamed Aathill Mohamed Samsudeen. Below is the outcome of that review which found that INZ handled this case in a manner that was consistent with our process and procedure and in a thorough and professional way.
