The Responsible Lending Code provides guidance on how lenders can meet their responsible lending obligations under the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003. This is version 3 of the Code (published February 2021, and amended September 2021), in force from 1 December 2021 to 6 July 2022.

The Government has announced a final set of changes to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act (CCCFA) and the Responsible Lending Code to improve safe access to credit for Kiwis. The changes will be applied from 4 May 2023.

This addendum to the Responsible Lending Code provides additional guidance on lender responsibilities relating to COVID-19. The addendum expires on 1 February 2022.
