In January 2019 we released a technical paper inviting submissions on Process Heat in New Zealand: Opportunities and barriers to lowering emissions.

Submissions are now invited on proposed regulations under the Fuel Industry Bill, and on options for a regulatory backstop to be added to legislation in future.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment sought feedback on the discussion paper Accelerating renewable energy and energy efficiency. This paper focused on two major work streams, encouraging energy efficiency and the uptake of renewable fuels in industry, and accelerating renewable electricity generation and infrastructure.

MBIE is responsible for maintaining data on New Zealand’s generation stack. This is a list containing information on the costs of existing and new electricity generation plants in New Zealand.

New Zealand’s Energy Outlook presents projections of future energy supply, demand, prices and greenhouse gas emissions. These projections are principally aimed at informing the energy debate.

The Minister of Energy and Resources commissioned an independent panel of experts to lead the review. Panel members were appointed by the Minister in April 2018.
