Nearly $800,000 is for maintaining and enhancing trails, while $53,000 is for repairing trails following damage caused by storms in June and July.
The investment, which is co-funded between government and local communities, will enable maintenance and upgrades to be made to the trails.
Trail shelters, toilets and trail enhancements like signage and interpretation panels are some of the big-ticket items that will result from the funding.
Extreme event funding allows for urgent repair work following winter storms which damaged tracks.
