Going For Growth: unlocking New Zealand’s potential
Published: 12 February 2025
Today the Government released Going For Growth, setting out its approach to enable economic growth, to deliver more jobs, higher incomes, and money to invest in services like our schools, hospitals and roads.
On this page
Going For Growth is organised around 5 pillars, each with a set of actions being taken by Government with more to come.
The 5 pillars are:
- Developing talent,
- Competitive business settings,
- Promoting global trade and investment,
- Innovation technology and science, and
- Infrastructure for growth.
Actions under these pillars work together to drive economic growth.
It brings together the work of multiple government agencies, providing a cohesive view of the work underway across government to grow New Zealand’s economy.
Going For Growth will continue to be added to as current Government initiatives are completed and new initiatives are launched.
The Government is inviting feedback on the first version of Going For Growth with opportunities for businesses to shape its future development.
