The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking feedback on an exposure draft of the proposed Crown Minerals (Petroleum) Amendment Regulations 2022 which give effect to the Crown Minerals (Decommissioning and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2021.
The draft regulations give effect to the new regime introduced by the Crown Minerals (Decommissioning and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2021, which introduced a number of changes to mitigate the risk to the Crown and other third parties of having to carry out and fund the decommissioning of petroleum infrastructure.
We are seeking feedback on proposed information disclosure requirements that would apply under the new regime.
