On 19 June 2018, we released a discussion document seeking feedback on what requirements there should be on New Zealand companies and limited partnerships to hold and disclose information about their beneficial owners.
Beneficial owners are individuals who ultimately own or exercise effective control over a corporate entity, such as a company.

The consultation period closed on 3 August 2018 and a total of 29 submissions have been received.
Twenty eight submissions are published below. One submission has been withheld for privacy reasons.
Decisions from the Government are expected by the end of 2019. Subject to the Government’s decision, legislative process will commence.
