On Wednesday 25 November 2015 the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs released an Options Paper that seeks public feedback on potential options for changes to the regulatory regime.

Submissions on the questions in Part 3 of this paper (relating to the Financial Service Providers Register) were due by 5pm on Friday 29 January 2016.

Submissions on the questions in Part 1 and Part 2 of this paper were due by 5pm on Friday 26 February 2016.

Submissions

Submissions closed on 26 February 2016 and a total of 149 submissions were received. These represent the views of a wide range of businesses, representative organisations and individuals. Submissions on Part 3 of the Options Paper, regarding the misuse of the Financial Service Providers Register, closed on 29 January 2016. This resulted in some submissions being received as two separate documents.

Submitters who wished to remain anonymous are referred to as anonymous submitter. Redactions have been made in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 and the Privacy Act 1993 and when content may be defamatory. Four submitters requested for their submission to remain confidential. These submissions have not been published.
