The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment is consulting on proposals for regulations to support the Crown Minerals (Decommissioning and Other Matters) Amendment Bill. The proposed regulations relate to the decommissioning of petroleum infrastructure and wells, and the development of a post-decommissioning fund.
What we’re asking for your feedback on
We are consulting on proposed regulations relating to 6 areas that are proposed in the Bill including:
- Field development plans and asset registers
- Monitoring ongoing financial position
- Assessing financial capability to decommission
- Financial security requirements
- Notification of cessation of production
- Post-decommissioning fund.
