Short-term forecasting
We use our short-term employment forecasts to inform our advice on priority settings for immigration, tertiary education and industry training over the next 2-3 years.
We use a short-term employment model that draws on the latest macroeconomic forecasts to derive forecasts of industry-level economic activity and productivity to obtain forecasts of industry employment. We then use the industry-level employment forecasts to forecast employment by occupations and skill levels.
