Our role in the telecommunications sector
Telecommunications Development Levy
The Telecommunications Development Levy subsidises telecommunications capabilities in the public interest which are otherwise not expected to be available commercially, or which are unaffordable.
On this page
The Telecommunications Development Levy (TDL) is collected from telecommunications service providers each year.
Under the Telecommunications Act, the Commerce Commission has responsibility for determining each company’s share of the TDL.
