The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking registrations of interest from organisations with the capability, capacity and interest to coordinate the delivery of an Applied Doctorates training scheme.

Proposals are invited for New Zealand research organisations to work with SmartSat Co-operative Research Centre (SmartSat CRC) in the area of Earth observation.

In 2018 a mid-way review of the National Science Challenges concluded with the Science Board agreeing to fund all 11 National Science Challenges at the maximum funding amount. This amount was set by Cabinet in 2013 for 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2024, and brings the total investment to $680.8 million.

New Zealand Institute for Minerals to Materials Research are contracted by MBIE for $11 million excluding GST over 5 years to undertake research that shifts activities from mining of minerals to manufacturing from minerals.

Approximately $2.0 million (excluding GST) per year is available to fund successful proposals in each Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund investment round.

The Government is investing up to $31m (excluding GST over 5 years in He tipu ka hua investment programme (formally He tipu ka hua investment fund).
