Seismic Review Steering Group
The Seismic Review Steering Group will provide expert oversight for the review of seismic risk management in existing buildings, which is being delivered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

The steering group will ensure the review is effectively delivered, is impartial and balanced, and that it accurately and adequately reflects public, sector and building owners’ voices, while drawing on expert and sector knowledge.
About the Chair
Dr Erica Seville is Chair of the steering group. This position is independent of Government, which allows Dr Seville to bring a neutral perspective and approach to the role.
Dr Seville is a skilled consultant, who has worked with organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally advising on how to prepare for and navigate crises. She is currently serving her third term as a Commissioner to the board of the Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake and is a director of Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ). She is an Honorary Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute and a Chartered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. She has a degree in engineering and a PhD in risk management.

The steering group consists of the Chair and 10 nominated representatives from both public and private organisations across Aotearoa New Zealand’s building, construction and property sectors.
